Sour Cream Noodle Bake

June 13, 2014 by Morgan Leave a Comment

I am always looking for new ways to put a spin on my family’s favorite dish- spaghetti. This Sour Cream Noodle Bake is a really great spin and was loved by all our guys on the farm.

Sour Cream Noodle Bake
Recipe Type: Main Dish
Author: Morgan
Ingredients
  • 2 lbs of hamburger
  • 1 can of tomato sauce (I use Hunts)
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1 package of sour cream
  • 1 package of cheddar cheese
  • 1 package of egg noodles
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Onion Salt
Instructions
  1. Brown your hamburger and drain the extra grease when it’s all cooked thoroughly.
  2. While the hamburger is cooking start up some boiling water.
  3. Once the water is boiling add your egg noodles. And cook them until they are nice and soft, but not too soft. Then drain.
  4. Add tomato sauce to your hamburger and give it a good stir.
  5. Add some salt, pepper, and onion salt to the hamburger sauce. Just enough for taste.
  6. Now, back to the egg noodles. Add your sour cream and cream cheese to the egg noodles and mix.
  7. Time to start layering. Add a layer of egg noodles to the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish and then add a layer of the hamburger. Repeat.
  8. Once you are out of room or out of supply, top the casserole off with cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.
  10. Enjoy!

I met my husband for the first time face to face on the exit ramp that is now down the road from our home. I lived in South Dakota for a year before I was sure I was ready to do this whole "farm wife" thing...(read more!)
