Anything with “Her” in the title just sounds like pampering to me…Or maybe I am just always hoping it does!
This weekend the South Dakota CommonGround team is sponsoring the Sioux Falls etc. for her Expo. This is such a great event. Lots of booths, freebies, wonderful give aways, and some great educational presentations!
Speaking of presentations.. There will even be one from me! I am going to be speaking on Friday at 5:30 about some of the hot topics in food. I have a great presentation planned and other farm wives from South Dakota will be around to answer your questions about food and farming.
For more information on etc. for her check out their Facebook page.
Personally, I think this expo is a perfect chance to have a girls night out! And to see your favorite blogger in action! ๐
Today I am giving away two free tickets to the event! Good for Friday or Saturday!
1. Be a follower of my blog- click Join this Site on the right hand side of the screen.

Can you tell me more about corn? That may seem like a strange question but I can’t tell the corn apart from the corn I eat, the corn that gets ground up for feed, the corn that gets ground up for cornmeal and the corn that gets used in ethanol. Thanks!

Yay Crystal! I just sent you an email to get more information from you! And you have an excellent question— one I should consider doing a blog post on..You may see that in the near future.
But…..
The corn we eat off the cob is sweet corn..there are numerous varieties.
The corn that we use for feeding our cattle is field corn. Doesn’t taste all that great to us two-leggers!
The corn used in corn meal can be pretty much any variety, I believe, except for sweet corn. It needs to have a low moisture content. The two main types used are called flint and dent corn.
The corn we use in ethanol production is mainly field corn- which if you remember from above is what we feed our cattle.
Again, this is a great question…Thanks so much for asking!
