As I mentioned on Monday we just finished up chopping our corn silage.
What a day! I also mentioned that on the day we tarped our pile we had more kids under the age of 10, than we did adults. But, being a little short handed of able bodied adults didn’t seem to slow us down once we got trucking.
We started after coffee around 10, and then finished at around 1. After all that hard work my sister in law and I decided to do a fun activity for all the kids- even our little Elliette got to participate.
Tarping The Pile
And then with a large amount of consoling she finally fell asleep to the hum of the ranger engine..Well, for about 20 minutes.
Taking a quick break.
She is so cute I can’t resist this photo. She finally got used to the idea of sitting on the silage pile, but not being able to participate. She is such an active little one…she needs to be involved in everything already!
It had been a long 2 weeks for all the kids..with parents all being super busy and being trucked back and forth between my place and Grandma’s place. We decided to take the left over tarp and set up a slip n slide. I remember these…my sister in law remembers these. But, none of the kids had seen one.
THEY. LOVED. IT.
Even the two littlest ones who were not quite into the whole sliding bit really got into the whole soap bubbles bit.
And yes, I even let Elliette go down after her nap. She really liked it! I love being with her to watch her experience all of her firsts.
All we needed was a scrap piece of tarp and the water trailer to make such a long 2 weeks come to such a fun end!
