Anyway, thought I would share that every now and then farm wives can get cleaned up pretty nice.
My sister in law did some PR pics for me in between combining soybeans and starting to combine high moisture corn today.
It is impossible for me to not share at least one. I love this picture because it has some of our best looking cattle lined up at the bunks.
Anyway, right now on the farm we are combining high moisture corn. Which is exactly what is sounds like, the corn plant is at a high moisture. We combine corn when it’s still pretty wet to grind up and store in our feed bunkers, very similar to what we do with our silage. This corn we use to feed to our cattle all winter long.
If I can convince my husband to allow me a short amount of time out the grain cart in the next few days I will snap some pictures of the process!

Yeah, They get a bit grumpy when we lug our camera out to the field. FOCUS on what we are doing and quit taking pics is what I hear quite a bit….well that might be the cleaned up version! Stay safe. We are picking “high moister corn” too, but we would rather it be dry. It’s down and probably won’t dry much more than the 27 it’s testing at. Beans are coming in at 8-9%! I was really surprised at that dry moisture number. Who knew?
