Just A Little Share On Crop Insurance

March 18, 2013 by Morgan Leave a Comment

Tonight is a cold, windy night in South Dakota. Tonight I hope for a smooth night of checking heifers. I would just hate for a baby to come in to the world on an evening where things aren’t just perfect! ๐Ÿ™‚

Welcome to the farming world…Perfection, often though, yet never achieved!

Speaking of a perfect world. We just passed a pretty important deadline here in the farming world. A deadline that is dedicated solely to crop insurance.

Yes, we insure our crops. And last week when I was checking up on a friend’s blog, I learned that 86% of insurable land in the United States is protected by the Federal Crop Insurance program.

I honestly had no idea it was that high!

Every year farmers across the Midwest meet with their crop insurance agents to determine how much coverage they would like to have for the following year.

But, don’t let me tell you about it. Head over to Sara at Sara’s House HD and check out what she has to say…she is what I would consider an expert and I am sure would love to hear your questions.

While you are there check out her adorable little boys this last week!

And just because I can’t resist…Happy St. Patrick’s Day from our house to yours!
