Introducing Elijah Paul

Life is certainly full these days. So full, I may have had a few moments in the last 24 hours where I was feeling so overwhelmed with what’s going on in my backyard (coming soon!), to trying to make a 3 year old and 3 month old happy, to trying to plan out the next few weeks.

Life is full. Life is beautiful.

So, today is a good day to share our birth announcement of Elijah (Actually it was a good day to share it approximately last Wednesday, but our internet…well, that’s another story!).

I am pretty much in love with it. Actually, I love all my photos. The hospital now offers a service to take photos right in your room the day after you deliver. Or, if you are in the NICU, the day you go home. Well, after 6 weeks in the NICU I was all about this service because I was pretty sure when we walked in our door with Elijah I would never, ever want to leave again. Or do anything other than hold him. Let alone sit him down for a picture. My hubby says I totally fell for it, the whole emotional idea of having the photos when your baby is so young.

Well, I did. And I don’t care. Again, see above. It was nice to get those pictures done with him before we left the hospital, especially since he was already six weeks old. My sister in law took Elliette’s when she was more like 6 days old. And, again one less thing I needed to worry about.

I actually did two different birth announcements for Elliette, and I did for Elijah too. But then my hubby convinced me that this was the only one he needed. He was right, it’s way too cute to not send to every single person we have ever uttered “hello” to.

Once you get past the cuteness above, here are some of the other photos we had taken that day.

This photo is really basic. But, I really wanted it. It shows him in the bed he spent the first six weeks of his life in. And it also shows the machine that gave him his feeds in the background.

This is a pretty generic photo. They do this one with lots of the babies. But that was okay with me!

Daddy wanted some pictures with the gifts he got from his visitors in the hospital. It helped that they were a cow and a tractor of course.

I wanted his name in blocks like we had his sister’s pictures done. And he is so sweet in this photo.

Life is so full of all his sweetness!

I met my husband for the first time face to face on the exit ramp that is now down the road from our home. I lived in South Dakota for a year before I was sure I was ready to do this whole "farm wife" thing...(read more!)
