And So It Begins…

April 4, 2012 by Morgan 4 Comments

Well, better term would be Began.
We started calving as we anticipated a few days early ๐Ÿ™‚ Our first two calves arrived on March 28. And they just kept on trucking.
Well, maybe not trucking. But they are moving along nicely!
We have 95 head of cows that we expect to calve this year. Give or take a few that may not be pregnant.

It is official too, the cows beat me. I am over my due date and I was really, really hoping I would calve early. ๐Ÿ™‚

And for those of you who commented on my last calving post…no worries, hubs is definitely taking care of the 2 AM check right now. I have been blissfully sleeping wonderfully through the night, although waking up earlier than I would like!

So glad you are getting your rest while you can. Patience. No one stays pregnant forever; it just feels like it some times! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I met my husband for the first time face to face on the exit ramp that is now down the road from our home. I lived in South Dakota for a year before I was sure I was ready to do this whole "farm wife" thing...(read more!)
