Instead of telling you all about my weekend on the farm and around our house I thought I would show it to you in pictures. I do a lot of bouncing around between our farm and our home some days. This past weekend was very typical of me running back and forth between the two trying to get a thousand things done!
If you remember back in the winter we had a building collapse. My husband is seen here… |
Cleaning up this mess…. |
And I definitely did my part by taking at least 20 pictures of our much loved, very muddy dogs. |
It’s my week to cook this week, which means time to reorganize my tupperware drawers.. |
And you have to clean out your fridge to make room for the leftovers and desserts you make when it’s your week to cook. |
I also wrapped a few presents… |
Did some laundry that was way over due..there is always more in the summer time I think. |
Took advantage of the beautiful day and used my clothesline.. |
Then realized as I was putting clothes away that it is definitely time to go through some of my clothes |
And shoes… |
I also did some work in our old grainery, which Jason converted into a horse barn for me. |
Pulled huge cotton wood branches out of our yard… |
And took another 20 pictures of our dogs..They are just so hard to resist! |
Scraped piles of mud out of our old garage where our farm vehicles reside. |
When you live in the country you burn garbage, the trash man does not come get it for you. I was actually pretty surprised by this when I first moved to South Dakota. |
I weeded my poor garden that was feeling neglected. |
I talked to my baby tree in the big red pot that I keep telling my husband will eventually be a big tree in a big red pot.. |
When you have a farm with lots of vehicles it means changing a lot of tags over every year. So I spent some time playing match the registration with the license plate. |
We did some work on one of our good pick ups. |
I cleaned up the inside of our shop so it was sparkling clean on Monday morning. |
Finally finished cleaning waterers with my husband’s help. We have a total of 15 and alone it takes me about 6 hours to do all of them the right way. |
We watered one of our feed lots of cattle and as you can see here someone had an itch and the trailer made the perfect scratching post. |
Sometimes my days are completely random and definitely don’t go as planned. I am a very scheduled person and the farm has really taught me how to be more flexible, because sometimes you have to run to get parts or run to pick up your husband from a field. Or even run a tractor all day when you have a million other things to do. Regardless of whether or not my schedule goes as planned I always feel like I accomplished something at the end of the day- even if I spent all of that in a tractor.
