#40bagsin40days turned #40unfinished projects laying around the house in 40days

May 7, 2014 by Morgan Leave a Comment

Today’s post is perfect for a Wordless Wednesday post. If you remember I started a #40bagsin40days project around our house for the Lent season. I got so much done! So much! So today in honor of that I thought I would share some of the pictures I took of my Lent season.
While purging I seemed to have come across multiple things that needed to be finished or organized that I just hadn’t gotten to yet. So, as you can see from the pictures some of my “bags” turned into unfinished, not finished projects that had been laying around the house.

And I think my husband was really okay with that! Except that I may have enlisted his help more than once or twice.

A mother’s job is never done when it comes to purging a toy room.
Purged the storage room and also found a new home for all my “gifts” that I buy for various occasions that need to stay hidden!
Finally put up the letters in the toy room that have been gathering dust in the closet for about a year. There were definitely a few people that were happy to see this finally done!
We do a lot of crafts, so keeping them organized is a must.
This is an ongoing project I should highlight at some point in the future. Creating my binder of recipes and slowly purging some of my unused recipe books. Although some I refuse to give up, beef cookbooks for a wedding gift from my mother in law, the cookbook that was always in my Mom’s kitchen, the binder of treasured family recipes from my Grandma…
So, I really needed some big binders in our office for farm stuff. And binders are pricey…then I remember that I am crazy organized and that every class I have taken in college that I thought would be relevant for my future was in binders. So, I decided to buy a file box and steal the binders.
One of my last Lent projects for #40bagsin40days was an Easter basket for Elliette. Well, Easter bucket. I really like the galvanized steel paint buckets at Lowes…They are even prettier when pink!

This was a really great thing for me during the Lent season. I am crazy organized anyway but I really enjoyed eliminating the clutter in our home to focus on the more important things in our life. I recommend it for everyone next Lent season!

I met my husband for the first time face to face on the exit ramp that is now down the road from our home. I lived in South Dakota for a year before I was sure I was ready to do this whole "farm wife" thing...(read more!)
