Feature Friday

June 29, 2013 by Morgan Leave a Comment

It appears as if we have a new pet at our house. Rather dirty, mean, and old. So, today he is my feature. I was actually planning on blogging about something entirely different. But, I couldn’t let today go by without sharing him with the world.

Currently we are in the process of getting our shingles replaced and yesterday evening as I was walking around checking everything out I saw something over in the middle of our yard. I was a bit worried because it was right next to the road and I immediately assumed the worst- it was one of our cats.

So, I started off across the lawn. Only to discover my turtle from last year was back. I am pretty darn sure it’s the same one. Making the same trek across the lawn. Just like last year. At this exact time. Well, maybe not down to the day…actually he or she is a month early according to this photo I took in 2012.

Here is the photo I took yesterday….

What do you think. Is it he same turtle? Or a new one? In the picture from last year there is quite a bit of mud on the shell. We have both concluded he is coming from the stock pond we have in our cow pasture right across the road. On his way to who knows where…

Happy Travels Turtle. I have decided next year if he or she comes back, I will officially name it.
