Feeding My Family

September 7, 2011 by Morgan 1 Comment

Remember at the beginning of the summer you saw a picture that looked like this:
Representing my newly planted garden.
Well, now at the end of the summer my garden looks more like this:
Now, keep in mind..I have pulled up some plants. And my lettuce back there is going a little crazy.
And last fall after the pumpkins I had purchased were well past their prime I tossed them next to my bushes that run along my quonset building. Needless to say this Spring they went crazy. And they are absolutely beautiful the way they have vined into my bushes, and of course across my yard…

I was so excited to see how well my garden has done this year. Thanks to a loving husband and a great friend it got weeded when it should, especially since my version of weeding is more like using my pesticide applicators license and spraying everything with Roundup.

Today we started chopping corn silage…and I have ton of beans that need canned…and it’s my week to cook…and my hubby says I have a ton of hay to rake. But, my Mom is coming from Indiana for a visit!

The life of a farm wife is always fun, always busy, and always changing!
