It seems like every time I turn around someone is getting blamed for obesity in America..whether it be the farmers, the grocery store, fast food, school lunches, etc.
Today I went to Burger King to grab a sandwich. I really wanted to sit down and have a yummy salad at the local sports bar in town..but my daughter was sleeping peacefully and I was totally not going to interrupt that!
Anyway, I order a chicken sandwich and a small pop. Total cost was $5.86. I pull up to the window to pay and it dawns on me that I am pretty sure the value meal was cheaper.
I ask the lady at the window, and she says yes..if you purchase the value meal (with fries) it is $5.69.
Ok…REALLY!?!?!?
Of course I immediately want to say “I would like to change my order and purchase the value meal”.
I don’t, but I want to.
Because if it’s cheaper I will at least take the fries and feed them to the dogs when I get home. The woman at the window says her problem is if she gets the fries then when she smells them in the car she has to at least have some of them (I do see her point!).
So, the real question is who is leading the parade for contributing to obesity…Burger King? Or the person who chooses to get the fries?
Does anyone else find it as entertaining as I do that you can get fries for cheaper than just the sandwich and small drink?
