When we work on projects, we make sure to bring all the toys. You know, just in case.
On this particular day, I would have to say that spirits were not the only thing that was high, so was the number of equipment in the yard.
If you remember from last summer we spent a long Saturday cleaning up storm damage as a family. Well, here we are a few months later still cleaning up that damage.
On this particular day our guys came together to re build some wind breaks. When we say wind breaks it is basically a tall wall structure that will protect our cattle in the lots from the elements.
I know I have mentioned it before, but being a farming family is a lot like playing for a team. We work together, eat together, fight together, and laugh together. I would like to say we are all team players, but sometimes as a farm wife it is important to step outside of the team and become the cheerleader.
As the boys carefully calculated out the correct angles for our new windbreak I moseyed around and snapped some pictures of them, really I should have just been delivering the rather large bolts I had picked up in town…but being the good blogger I am I decided to snap some pictures to share with you…and my brother in laws were great sports about it too! My husband, he doesn’t really have a choice. ๐
Troy was our master mind behind this project I believe. Brad and Jay, did all the grunt work ๐
(Wait, remember my post on defining grunt work?)
Anyway after two days we have one completed wind break. Three happy boys. And another good blog post about life on our family farm here in South Dakota!
