Yesterday I finally got out of the house! And for a really great reason.
Yesterday, I spent the day at the Go Red For Women event in Sioux Falls, South Dakota..Talking about two of my favorite things…Food and Farming!
Yesterday the day started a little on the slow side..we had our first really big snow fall of the year yesterday and South Dakotans got a little excited ๐
I spent the morning telling the story of our farm and answering questions the women had for me. Anything from antibiotics in animals, hormones in chickens, or grass fed beef v. corn fed beef.
I would say the morning was a success and I got to meet some really great women who have suffered through heart disease either themselves or someone close to them.
The day was so insightful for me, just as it was last year. I have never had anyone in my family suffer from heart disease so I always learn so much by listening to these womens’ stories. My heart reaches out to those who suffer from heart disease or those who have lost loved ones because of it, it truly is a heart wrenching disease.
Just A Little Heart Attack
This video may have just a touch of humor, but heart disease is something that should be taken very seriously!

I ran this one a week ago or so, and I hate to admit how many times I have felt something like this character with all the craziness of life going on at the same time. Great message to hear and put out many more times!

This video is scarily like my heart attack! I was a 25 year old single mom with 7 year old twin girls, getting them ready for school on Friday everything happened 2 hours earlier as the girls have swimming practice before school. I hadn’t slept much due to “acid indigestion” then around 30 minuets after the girls left I had all the arm and jaw pain with real bad sweating and then unimaginable chest pain. I had suffered a STEMI and and I died for 65 minuets.
Turns out that I had 3 90% blocked arteries!
I had a triple bypass and an ICD fitted and 9 months on I’m doing ok, lost a little weight from my belly and stopped smoking too.
