We like to do a little something called chopping hay silage around this time of year.
Almost a bitter sweet moment- the rush of planting is over, transitioning into the smell of cut hay is in the air.
I have been quite busy this last week, that whole new job thing, so my husband was super sweet and took some pictures of the farm in action.
The hay is cut, raked into rows and then ran through the big green chopper, cut into tiny pieces, and then loaded into the trucks.
After we load it into trucks we drive it back to the farm and unload it into our feed bunkers where we pack it down with our “packing tractor”.
Really, this happened a few weeks ago and I have been so busy I haven’t had a chance to insert the pictures. But, better late than never.
